With the holidays in full swing, now is the time to really get into the spirit! There’s no better way to do that than with these holiday festivities around Midlothian. From tacky light tours to holiday markets, grab your friends and family and hit the town for some holiday activities!

Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights

Head to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens until January 9th for the GardenFest of Lights! They’re open nightly from 4 to 10 pm and are only closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas. The beautiful gardens will be decorated with millions of sparkling lights that guests can explore. This year’s theme is “Naturally Connected,” which shows that we are all connected to both each other and nature. Explore the maze of lights in the shape of a spider web, look at the model trains, and drink hot cocoa. Be sure to get your tickets online ahead of time!

See the Nutcracker at Dominion Energy Center

From December 13th to the 23rd, see the Richmond Ballet’s Nutcracker at the Dominion Energy Center! A beautifully performed classic, follow along as Clara goes on an incredible journey with The Nutcracker. Additionally, guests can buy tickets to Clara’s Tea Party for select performances. Guests can meet different characters from the show and enjoy tea and sweet treats. Keep in mind, tickets are sold separately for these events.

Tacky Light Tour

All over town, you will find houses with beautiful and fun light displays. From homes in the West End and Glen Allen to residences in the city and throughout Chesterfield, there is plenty to choose from. Some homes even have their lights coordinated to music! Whether you rent a bus with friends or plan out your own tacky tour, you’ll want to hit some of these popular spots in the area.
